چکیده
The bile acid receptor (GPBA) responds to acids produced during the liver metabolism of cholesterol. Selective agonists are promising drugs for treatment metabolic disorders, such as type II diabetes, obesity and atherosclerosis.

Megatrends in bile acid receptor research
The Keystone Symposia conference organized by Luciano Adorini, Kristina Schoonjans, and Scott L. Friedman on “Bile acid receptors as signal integrators in liver and metabolism” in Monterey, California, March 3-7, 2017, offered the opportunity to assess state of the art research and delineate trends in this dynamic and very energetic field. The discovery of the nuclear hormone receptor superfami...
متن کاملFarnesoid X receptor regulates bile acid-amino acid conjugation.
The farnesoid X receptor (FXR; NR1H4) regulates bile acid and lipid homeostasis by acting as an intracellular bile acid-sensing transcription factor. Several identified FXR target genes serve critical roles in the synthesis and transport of bile acids as well as in lipid metabolism. Here we used Affymetrix micro-array and Northern analysis to demonstrate that two enzymes involved in conjugation...
متن کاملExpression of bile acid receptor TGR5 in gastric adenocarcinoma.
Bile reflux is a risk factor in the development of intestinal metaplasia in the stomach and is believed to function as an initiator of gastric carcinogenesis. However, whether the G protein-coupled bile acid receptor TGR5 is expressed in this tumor is not known. In this study, we determined the expression of TGR5 in gastric adenocarcinoma and examined the role of TGR5 in cell proliferation. Str...
متن کاملHyodeoxycholic acid derivatives as liver X receptor α and G-protein-coupled bile acid receptor agonists
Bile acids are extensively investigated for their potential in the treatment of human disorders. The liver X receptors (LXRs), activated by oxysterols and by a secondary bile acid named hyodeoxycholic acid (HDCA), have been found essential in the regulation of lipid homeostasis in mammals. Unfortunately, LXRα activates lipogenic enzymes causing accumulation of lipid in the liver. In addition to...
متن کاملBile acid nuclear receptor FXR and digestive system diseases
Bile acids (BAs) are not only digestive surfactants but also important cell signaling molecules, which stimulate several signaling pathways to regulate some important biological processes. The bile-acid-activated nuclear receptor, farnesoid X receptor (FXR), plays a pivotal role in regulating bile acid, lipid and glucose homeostasis as well as in regulating the inflammatory responses, barrier f...
